Department of Computer Science & Engineering prepares students to address the most compelling challenges of the world, backed by sound knowledge, integrity, research, and innovation. The department provides options to the students for specialization in contemporary topics like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cyber Security and Forensics, Cloud Computing and so on. With state-of-the-art infrastructure, faculty of the highest professional standards, a carefully crafted curriculum, active industry-academia collaborations, and global exposure, we provide students with specialised knowledge and practical skills along with value-added courses to prepare them for life. The department also maintains a specialized research centre on high performance computing.

Our Vision

Graduates of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering will be recognized as innovative leaders in the fields of computer science and software engineering. This recognition will come from their work in software development in a myriad of application areas, as well as through their work in advanced study and research. The faculty is, and will continue to be, known for their passion for teaching and for their knowledge, expertise, and innovation in advancing the frontiers of knowledge in computer science and software engineering.

Our Mission

M.S 01: Our mission is to teach and prepare liberally educated, articulate, and skilled computer scientists and software engineers for leadership and professional careers and for advanced study.

M.S 02: A central objective of our program is to contribute to society by advancing the fields of computer science and software engineering through innovations in teaching and research, thus enhancing student knowledge through interactive instruction, global engagement, and experiential learning.

M.S 03: The program will serve as a resource to inform society about innovations related to the production and uses of computers and software.

M.S 04: To impart moral and ethical values, and interpersonal skills to the students.

Classrooms

The department provides adequate classroom facilities to accommodate students.

  • Each year of each stream is provided with a dedicated fully furnished class rooms with all modern amenities.
  • The classrooms are completely airconditioned to tackle the hot climates of the city.
  • The classrooms are designed to allow lots of natural light and create a healthy and airy atmosphere
  • All classrooms are provided with Highspeed WiFi access to help students in their academic activities.
  • All classrooms are provided with projector, whiteboards, laptops for ICT enabled teaching.
  • Backup generators provide uninterrupted power supply 24×7.

Laboratory:

  • 10 state of the art computer laboratories with more than 270 high configuration computers.
  • The computer laboratories are furnished with sufficient computers to accommodate all students in a 1:1 ratio for each lab session.
  • Each lab is conducted on the basis of well-designed lab manual that is upgraded each year to include newer programs and questions to cater to updated demands of the industry.

Seminar Hall:

  • Seminar Hall with 100+ capacity equipped with projectors, air conditioners and other amenities for ICT enabled presentation delivery.

Facilities

  • High-speed internet connectivity is provided through Ethernet and WiFi across the entire department.
  • State of the art data center with rack servers and continuous power supply to provide hosting service for several campus activities.
  • The data centers are equipped with 7x 10kVA online UPS, Fortigate Firewall, 23 High speed switches, 4 compute servers with upto 14 cores each and 15 TB Storage Servers.
  • Many of the commonly used licensed software are made available centrally at the Data Centre and the facility is extended to all the computers across the departments as Xilinx, Microsoft Visio, Matlab 15A and so on.

Dr. Sajal Saha

Professor

Department of Computer Science and Engineering

Dr. Sajal Saha has 18 years of academic experience working both in the affiliated college and university system. Currently he is the Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Director-Product & Innovation of Adamas University. Prior to this, he was the Principal of Meghnad Saha Institute of Technology under Techno India Group affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal. From 2019 to 2021, he served as Dean of the School of Computing Sciences and Dean of Research at Kaziranga University. He served as Associate Dean(Compliance) from 2016 to 2019. Dr. Saha obtained PhD from National Institute of Technology, Durgapur in 2016. His title of thesis was “QoS and Mobility Management in WiMAX and other Next Generation Network”. He obtained Masters in Engineering (ME) with major in Information Technology from West Bengal university of Technology in 2007. He achieved first class second place in ME and was presented with a silver medallion by the Governor of West Bengal for achieving second place overall in the order of merit.  

He started his career as project trainee in the field of GIS and Remote Sensing at Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for 6 months in 2004. He then joined as lecturer in the department of computer application, Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata, India in August 2004. He worked at Narula Institute of Technology, Kolkata for 12 years in the capacity of Lecturer, Senior lecturer and Assistant professor. 

He published 50 papers in refereed international and national journals and conferences of repute. He authored 2 books titled “GIS and Remote Sensing: Applications in Flood Damage assessment” and “Mobility Management in IP based Network: Framework, Issues and Challenges” published by Lap Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany. He received a total of 18 lakhs in research grants from several funding bodies such as AICTE, ASTEC, and Institute Innovation Council, to mention a few. 

He was the President of the Institute Innovation Council at Kaziranga University, and under his guidance, Kaziranga ascended to the top spot in the north east region in terms of innovation culture and activities in 2020. He was coordinator of KU-IBM joint BTech program in Kaziranga University.
