Civil Engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways. It is considered the second-oldest engineering discipline after Military Engineering. Civil engineering takes place in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.

The department of Civil Engineering having conglomeration faculty strength from different specialization. They always encourage students in the path of research and career development. Civil Engineering laboratory in Adamas University is a depot of sharing practical knowledge and it helps student to work with various instruments related to the field of core branch.

By seeing the demand in the current scenario, this department is also offering a specialization course in B.Tech level where all the recent trends Civil Engineering topics are included in this curriculum for example, Rural and Urban Planning, Intelligent Waste Management, Smart Materials and Infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence in Infrastructure, Intelligent Transportation System. Students can opt any of these courses, either normal B.Tech or B.Tech Specialization course as per their choice. Also master degree program as M.Tech (Environment Engineering) is there for higher studies and research.

Dr. T. Senthil Vadivel was born on 16, April 1979 at Erode, Tamilnadu, India. He received his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore in 2000. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Construction Engineering and Management at SASTRA University, Thanjavur in 2004 and his doctoral degree in Civil Engineering under Anna University, Chennai in 2013. Driven by the passion towards management, he equipped himself with two Master’s Degrees in Business Management in 2011 and 2016. Further he has been awarded with M.S. Degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy with IBMS, Chittoor under Open University of       Sri Lanka to enhance his behavioural management skills and currently working as Professor & Head in Civil Engineering in Adamas University, Barasat, Kolkata.

He has published 8 Patents, 35 reputed/indexed International Journals, more than 80 National and International Conferences and presented more than 100 invited and guest talks in diversified areas of Engineering and Technology. He has organized more than 50 Sponsored National/International Conferences, FDPs, Workshops, Seminars, Hands-on Training Programmes and Webinars. He is a renowned Editor and Editorial/Advisory Board Member and Reviewer for many Prestigious Journals and Conferences of national and international repute. He is the Life Member of different Professional bodies like ISTE, ISRD, IAETSD, ISAC, IRED, IAENG, GAP, REDINNO and ASCE. He received many awards and accolades for his contribution in Engineering Education and Research.
