Dr. Anirban Mukherjee

Dr. Anirban Mukherjee is an accomplished academician and researcher with 29+ years of experience in teaching at the UG/PG engineering level, 15+ years of experience in research and 12+ years of experience in academic administration, including around 6 years as Principal (of a reputed autonomous engineering college). He has experience in leading academic reforms, accreditations, government projects and collaborations with industry and government and academia. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Adamas University. As Dean, School of Engineering & Technology, he oversees 12 UG & PG programs of Computer Science and Computer Application, 4 programs of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and one each of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. As Director of Campus to Corporate, he is looking after industry collaboration for integration in academics and R&D.   

With a PhD from IIEST, Shibpur, and a B.E. from Jadavpur University, Dr. Mukherjee’s research interests include Computer Graphics, Computational Intelligence, Optimization and Digital Pedagogy. He has co-authored 2 UG engineering (CSE) textbooks and 18 books on Distance Learning Programs for different Universities across India. Besides authoring several papers and chapters published in journals, books and conferences, he is the co-editor of 10 edited books published by international publishers. 

Dr. Anirban Mukherjee has an interest in HR problem-solving, motivating young minds, improving the quality of teaching-learning and student progression, particularly in the field of engineering & technology.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO)

PO 01: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO 02: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO 03: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO 04: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO 05: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO 06: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO 07: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO 08: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO 09: Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Project Proposal: An entrepreneurship development project proposal in the area of Automated Sanitizer Dispenser was submitted to NRDC, DSIR. From the incubation, cell of AU with Dr. Saikat Chaterjee and Mrs. Rupanwita Das Mahapatra as key resource persons.
  • Association with Professional Societies like SAEINDIA, IEI(INDIA), ISIEINDIA, IAENG, IETE etc. to conduct National & International Conference, Project exhibition, Technical Seminar etc.
  • Seed money grant of 4,7 Lakh to faculty under ARISE-2021 to pursue research projects with active involvement of students.
  • Developed online lab modules under the initiative of AU smart labs with 119 experiments.
  • Covid 19 initiative: A team of faculty members & students indigenously developed and commissioned Hands-free Sanitizer Dispenser at different functional units of the University.
  • Published 7 newsletters in 2020 on themes like “Engineering Career and Courses”, “Robotics”, “Computing Plus”, “Infrastructure Plus” etc.
  • Domain Specific Technical Training and IT Skills Training for Core Branches – started from 04, Dec 2020 and continuing on every Wednesday.

Internship and Placement

Career Development Cell (CDC) is fully responsible to arrange different service industries, core sector organizations, PSUs etc for students to be appeared for the placement. They also provide different soft skill and emerging skill training, conduct celeb talk, industry visit for students. During the 3rd year studies of B.
