Ankit Paul, 3rd year student at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering is interning with The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) on using Artificial Intelligence to detect Parkinson’s disease. The majority of patients with Parkinson’s disease have handwriting abnormalities. They have problems, like abnormally small letter size and trembling handwriting are the most commonly reported handwriting abnormality in the patients. In this project students are helping the patients by developing a software to read, detect and convert this hand writing in a more understandable digitized version. This conversion of handwriting to digitized version is done by studying the pressure and kinematic features of handwriting along with a detail study of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence for Pattern Reorganization. Mr. Ankit got the idea of the AI and Machine Learning through our advance curriculum and experimental learning process.
