I, Nirmal Das, is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, School of Engineering and Technology, Adamas University, Kolkata. I completed my BTech in Computer Science and Engineering from WBUT in 2012 and MTech in Computer Technology from Jadavpur University in 2016. Currently I am pursuing my PhD in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Jadavpur University. My research area includes ‘Digital Topology and Geometry’ and ‘Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence’ with its application in Medical Image Analysis. I received CSIR SRF DIRECT Fellowship for the tenure May 2018-May 2021, awarded by CSIR HRDG, Govt. of India. I published my research papers in five SCI-indexed Journals and several International conferences (two of them received best paper award). The paper titled “Quantitative 3-D morphometric analysis of individual dendritic spines” co-authored by me has been published in Scientific Reports, Nature Publications in 2018. Recently our group developed 3dSpAn tool (www.3dspan.org) under the supervision of Prof. Subhadip Basu, in collaboration with Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Poland and Hanover Medical School, Germany. 3dSpAn is popular in Neuroimaging research community. The manuscript for 3dSpAn tool titled” An interactive software for 3D segmentation and analysis of dendritic spines” has been accepted for publication in Neuroinformatics, Springer, which is a pioneer journal for neuroscience research.
