Mr. Sayanta Sikdar was born on February 28, 1994 at Kolkata, West Bengal. He passed Secondary Examination in 2009 with 87.75% of marks, from Laban Hrad Vidyapith (Salt Lake), under West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE). Mr. Sikdar qualified Higher Secondary Examination in 2011 with 86.6% of marks, from Laban Hrad Vidyapith (Salt Lake), under West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE). Then he received his B. Tech degree in Civil Engineering in the year 2015, as a student of Adamas Institute of Technology under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology, WBUT) with DGPA 9.25.
Next he worked as Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira, Belur, from September 03, 2015 to July 19, 2016. He obtained his M. Tech degree in Environmental Science and Technology in 2018, as a student of National Institute of Technology Durgapur, West Bengal, with CGPA 9.60 (with scholarship after qualifying GATE).
Then he joined Vedanta Limited., Lanjigarh (at Kalahandi district of Odisha) on October 04, 2018 and worked there for more than 2 years as Assistant Manager at Environment (HSE) Department. He is having industrial experience in the field of Environment, like – environmental monitoring, tailing dams, Waste management, Sewage Treatment etc. and he served as in-charge of Sewage Treatment Plants and Biogas plant for a year in Vedanta Limited. He was also involved in waste management projects and Rain water harvesting project in Vedanta Limited.
Mr. Sikdar was awarded Institute Gold Medal in M.Tech from National Institute of Technology Durgapur, on November 11, 2018. He has 2 paper publications in international journals. His areas of research are Water treatment, Nanoparticle synthesis, Arsenic removal by using nanomaterials, Heavy metal removal from groundwater etc. He joined Adamas University in February, 2021.
